Putting Care in Online Courses

Welcome to Interlink!  My name is Marie Bartlett, and I am a Learning Designer at Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (OL).  Creating OL online courses is a group effort of people that care deeply about their work and the students they support.  Courses are first written by multiple subject matter experts, then professionally edited and copyright checked.  Production colleagues help create media elements, and ensure that the courses are easy for students to navigate in Moodle, our online learning management system.  Along all the teams at TRU, I am committed to creating educational experiences that inspire and engage learners.  I look for opportunities to highlight active learning and creativity in course design, and use innovative pedagogical approaches and tools to best utilize online environments for learning and teaching.

Having participated in online learning as a teacher, designer, but also as a student while working full time, I appreciate the flexibility of online environments, while understanding some of the challenges that students face.  Please know that that we are here to support your learning.
